International staff
applications welcome
The International union is looking for GCIU leaders and members
who are interested in joining the International staff as representative-organizers.
Pres. George Tedeschi said the purpose of asking for applications is to establish a file of
applicants to be considered for appointment as positions become available. He emphasized that
"there are no immediate openings."
He said a plan is for representatives and organizers to be able to fill in for each other. Tedeschi
said rep-organizer requirements include previous experience, possible relocation, good salary and
benefits, and a willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
Tedeschi asked that local union leaders send names of members, whom they believe could be an
asset to the International staff, to the attention of Richard J. Whitworth, executive assistant to the
GCIU president. Tedeschi also suggested that those members interested in applying should send
cover letters and resumes to Whitworth.
Correspondence about representative-organizer positions should be sent to Whitworth at GCIU
headquarters at 1900 L St., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20036.
