President's assistant named Richard J. Whitworth, a member of GCIU and predecessor unions for 33 years, is executive assistant to the president, chosen by Pres. George Tedeschi. Whitworth will help with the day-to-day operations of the GCIU. A journeyman pressman member of Philadel- phia 16N, Whitworth was the local's past president and business manager and served for several years as secretary of the North American Newspaper Conference. Tedeschi said he has the "utmost respect for Rich. He's articulate, hard-working, aggressive, and will get along with the International staff."
