Retired ERF administrator dies at 65

Arthur L. DeKuhn
Arthur L. DeKuhn, retired administrator of the GCIU Employer Retirement Fund (ERF), died June 12 in Overland Park, Kan. He was 65.

DeKuhn, who joined the GCIU in 1984, served as ERF administrator from 1986 to 1996.

An alumnus of Occidental College in Los Angeles, DeKuhn worked for 10 years in the insurance and employee benefits field, including six years with the group benefit department of Occidental Life Insurance Company, before joining the firm of Benefit Programs Administration (BPA) in 1971.

While at BPA, which is the Los Angeles firm that administers the ERF, DeKuhn served as administrative manager for construction industry health and welfare, pension, apprenticeship, and vacation savings plans, as well as the ERF.

DeKuhn and his wife Barbara moved to Kansas after he retired as executive vice president of BPA in 1998.

In addition to his wife, DeKuhn is survived by six children and 15 grandchildren.
