With unfair labor practice charges pending and after working more than a year without a contract, members of New York 1L at the Quality House of Graphics/Image Link are appealing for help to publicize their fight with the scofflaw company.

New York 1L members are leafleting such Quality House customers as Sony, Revlon, Chanel, Ann Taylor, Ralph Lauren/Polo, and U.S. Tobacco. They are asking the public not to patronize these companies that use Quality House for printing.

Breaking a 60-year tradition of amicable bargaining, Quality House unilaterally stopped its contributions to the union-sponsored benefit funds.

Local 1L Pres. Patrick LoPresti said the National Labor Relations Board charged Quality House with bad faith bargaining related to the company's demand to terminate union security provisions.

"Quality continues to insist upon this as part of its all too obvious and illegal effort to break the union," LoPresti said. "Let there be no mistake. This union will never let an outlaw employer turn the clock back 60 years and dictate a substandard contract for our members."

Local 1L is asking all GCIU locals and members to contact Quality House customers and ask them not to do business with Quality House, which refuses to obey the nation's labor laws, and ask them to urge Quality House to settle its contract dispute with Local 1L.
