GCIU's PAF raffle drawing
yields winner of Greek islands cruise
A member of Washington 285M was the lucky winner of the cruise
for two to the Greek Islands offered in the GCIU's Political Action Fund raffle.
The raffle drawing was held at the GCIU General Board meeting in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 5.
GCIU Vice Pres. Lawrence Martinez, who chairs the General Board Legislative Committee,
thanked all locals that participated in the PAF raffle. "Through your support we will be able to
back candidates in the United States and Canada that will stand up for the rights of working men
and women and promote issues that protect our families and our future."
The winner of the top prize the 12-day trip to Greece or $7,000 in cash was
Barbara Lewis of Local 285M. The winner of the second prize a three-day trip for two to
Orlando, Fla., or $1,500 in cash was Maureen Sciotto of Nassau County 406C. The
winner of the third prize a three-day trip for two to Las Vegas or $1,500 in cash
was Mike Schardinger of Bristol 497S.
GCIU watches were awarded to five winners: Joe Perrine, Philadelphia 14M; Katrina Paul,
Detroit 289M; John LaSpina, Local 406C; Anne Marie Beaudoin, Ottawa 588M; and Forest
Printing, Chicago 458M.
GCIU leatherette duffle bags were awarded to Duane Dupuy Jr., Milwaukee 7C; Chuck Genova,
Kansas City 235M; John LaSpina, Local 406C; William Kulp, Local 497S; and David Alvord,
Seattle 767M. Ten others won GCIU cloth duffle bags.
