Lead Organizer trainees meet in Appleton

Appleton, Wis., was the site of the third GCIU Lead Organizer training course.

Taught by the International Organizing staff, local union members were trained how to use their regional perspective to help to organize workers in their communities.

The Appleton classes were the third in the series of Lead Organizer training courses (See pages 6 and 7 for a description of the curriculum in the fourth training session in Sandusky, Ohio).

Participants used role-playing scenarios prepared by GCIU International Organizers to teach them how to select and conduct an organizing campaign in their local area.

GCIU Vice Pres. Garry D. Foreman (acting Organizing director) explained that Lead Organizer training was intended to extend the people power of the International to regions across the continent.
