President
George Tedeschi


George Tedeschi was installed as president of the International union on June 4, 2000. He now serves as president of the GCC/IBT.

Mr. Tedeschi served as president of Nassau County 406C from 1972 until he became International president. He also had served previously as vice president and secretary-treasurer of Local 406C. A journeyman newspaper pressman at Newsday, the Long Island, N.Y., daily newspaper, until he became a full-time local officer in 1987, he has been a member of the union since 1959.

Mr. Tedeschi served as a member of the GCIU General Board from the Atlantic region from 1983 to June 2000. He was president of the GCIU North American Newspaper Conference from 1979 to May 2000. He also served as secretary of the GCIU Eastern Conference.

Mr. Tedeschi served on the Executive Board of the Long Island Federation of Labor, AFL- CIO, for 14 years and served as director and secretary of the United Way of Long Island. He currently serves on the board of the Union Labor Life Insurance Co. (ULLICO).


Acting Secretary-Treasurer/
Vice President
Robert Lacey

Robert Lacey was named acting secretary-treasurer of the Graphic Communications Conference in October 2005. He was elected vice president in 2004.

A graduate of Vincennes University with a degree in graphic arts, Mr. Lacey joined the union in 1974. He was elected president of Evansville 571M in 1985 and served in that post until his election as a GCC vice president. He also served as financial secretary-treasurer of Local 571M from 1983 to 1985.

As a local officer, Mr. Lacey also served as president of the Evansville Allied Printing Trades Council, secretary-treasurer of the Evansville Labor Temple, recording secretary of the Central Labor Council of Southwestern Indiana, and vice president of the Labor Day Association. He served on boards or advisory committees for the United Way of Southwestern Indiana, Wellborn HMO, and the Indiana Vocational Technical College.

Mr. Lacey served as secretary-treasurer of the GCIU Midwestern States Conference and as a trustee for the Graphic Communications National Health and Welfare Fund, where he chaired the Appeals Committee and served on the Executive Committee.

Mr. Lacey is secretary-treasurer of the International Allied Printing Trades Association Board of Governors. As GCC vice president, he serves as secretary to the Health and Welfare Fund, as director of the GCC Education, Safety and Health and Contract and Research departments, and as a trustee and executive committee trustee on the GCC/IBT Supplemental Retirement and Disability Fund (SRDF).
