United StatesThe GCC/IBT Supplemental Retirement and Disability Fund, established in 1966, is a multi- employer, defined benefit retirement plan for participants in the United States with approximately $1 billion in assets. The Fund's Retirement Plan offers unreduced lifetime benefits as early as age 62, with the option of early retirement at age 55. In addition, the Plan provides vested and disability benefits, as well as a pre-retirement death benefit. The jointly trusteed Plan accepts employer contributions ranging from 3 percent to 10 percent of covered wages. In addition to the monthly Basic or Vested benefit (based on eligibility), a Supplemental benefit is payable for qualifying participants until the participant is eligible for unreduced Social Security benefits.
