79th UPIGA golf tourney set for May 7-12 in Georgia

The 78th annual tournament of the Union Printcraft International Golf Association (UPIGA) "is now history," noted UPIGA Secy.-Treas. James Sherlock.

"We had a great tournament as usual great weather, great golf courses," said Sherlock, who also is secretary-treasurer of Newark 8N.

Twelve players were awarded jackets, Sherlock reported. Jackets go to the low gross and low net winners in each flight.

The 79th UPIGA gold tournament is set for May 7 to 12, 2006, in Jekyll Island, Ga., at the Jekyll Island Ocean Front Resort.

The resort offers guestrooms, one and two bedroom villas, a large swimming pool, health spa and three "outstanding golf courses," Sherlock said.

Package rates, which include all taxes and gratuities, include accommodation for five nights, five buffet breakfasts, five group dinners, four rounds of golf with a shared cart for men, two rounds of golf with a shared cart for women, and a cocktail reception.

The package rates are $578.65 for men golfers; $502.65 for women golfers, and $425.65 for non-golfers.
